Hello Tooth Fairy

That is very true. But considering that he has a good weight advantage over a GT it shouldn't really matter.

SVT Stage 1 Turbo Kit:

Overview:
This STG1 FocusPower Turbo kit was designed as a entry level into the world of Forced Induction for the Zetec , It is a NON Intercooled kit capable of 10psi MAX and tuning is not included but is a must!

Components:
Custom T3 Turbocharger by Turbonetics
Stainless Steel Turbo Manifold
Wastegate (Turbonetics DeltaGate II)
2 1/2" Down-Pipe for Turbo
1 7/8" Down-Pipe for Wastegate
Oil Feed and Return Lines
Oil Pan w/Welded Return Bung
Clamps
Gaskets
Piping:
Turbo -> Throttle Body
Turbo -> Air Filter
Hoses 4Ply Silicone (cut to size)
Fittings
Flanges

Pricing:
SVT: $2995
so what apparently you missed that kit for the SVTF that pushes 200/200 to the wheels with a VERY conservative tune (those are the minimum numbers tom will guarantee with warranty on his car kit and a completely stock engine)

my point is for the cost of a JRSC it's a foolish move now that there are quality stage 1 kits available for ~3650 installed and dyno tuned.

As far as I'm conserned no one has even pushed the limit of the JRSC on the SVT motor yet. Everyone is always so quick to knock it saying that it produces little power gains. That is not the case here. JSSVT04 is putting down 220whp on the JRSC right now with just bolt-ons and a conservative tune. I would like to think that the SVT has much more potential than that and he'll show it in the next few months so keep an eye out.
Your concern is irrelevant since the baseline mechanics of it's output just are not there. That supercharger is not capable of putting out the kind of torque required for a FWD vehicle to beat a C5 vette, that's why I told him to be realistic.

I am not here to argue but simply put there is no comparison between 99-04 GT's and a JRSC SVTF. GT's are luck to put down 230 whp stock and weigh almost 600 lbs. more. C5's on the other hand is a different story.
Which would explain why I previously stated that he would have no problem putting down stock GTs with ease and never doubted him on that, but that with a JRSC it just wasn't possible to reach a 345/350 C5 vette.

Considering that JSSVT04 has 220whp for the same price with the JRSC, how is 3650 a good deal? We live in FL and it is not cost effective to tow a car 800 miles to have a turbo kit installed and tuned in NC. Not to mention taking the time off work to do it. Not nut swinging but 200whp, a gain of 50 whp is not worth $4000.

By the way:

Look at the pics posted on his site for the stage 1 kit. They are of the Zetec, not SVT.

umm... sorta off-topic; sorta on-topic.

strickly speaking physics here, isn't the hp the engine produces a product of its torque?
like, you can draw the torque curve of the car and using a bit of math extrapolate the hp from the torque, since hp is a function of torque f(tq) = hp... right?

so, in the "big picture" isn't it more valuable to maximize torque, since the hp will be there anyway?

(i'm not exactly an automotive engineer or anything here , just an honest question)
