Lining up dead even is OK, it is when it even goes over the edge slightly that the trouble begins. I have one zetec dead even on edge and been that way 100K.

Aluminum underdrive pulley question was asked specifically because there are pics on this site that show how the timing belt has worn away material from the UD crank pulley, possibly allowing the belt to move forward...

No prob. This link show the wear on an aluminum crank pulley... could have caused the belt to walk...

Yeah them aluminum pulleys wear pretty quick once the hardcoat is worn off...........

damn hm well I will order the timing belt kit sometime this week im broke after dropping a lot in the new supercharger :) so il do the timing belt first I got other cars to drive so not a big deal
