Because Speed channel is a bunch of Nascar lovin rednecks. I like Nascar too but I can only take so much. They used to have the rally's on at a respectable time of 9:00.

I'm slowly getting disappointed in SPEED. NASCAR is on ALL THE TIME. Yes, I know it is a business, and yes, I know you play what the majority of people want, but when they were Speedvision they didnt do that. Speedvision was a great channel, directed directly at the enthusiast. SPEED has said, in regards to NASCAR, that by showing NASCAR, and thus making lots of money, it allows them to show more "niche" racing (if FIA WRC or ALMS qualifies as niche). But I guess they failed to mention it will be played only after midnight...

Well get outside the US and Rally isn't niche at all, but look at the average US race fan who's willing to pay extra for the "inCar" camera channels so you can watch one of seven in-car cameras at a given NASCAR race. Oh boy...the only thing more dull than watching all those cars do 400-500 laps is watching the view from one car for the same number of laps.

I'd have to agree that Speed sucks anymore. I can remember a few years ago the Rally coverage was awesome, now all they show are a few of the frontrunners or the really close stages where one driver is within 10 seconds or less of the next place. Granted they can't show all the cars in all 20+ stages of a given Rally, but it seemed to me that you saw about 7 minutes of Rally per every 5 minutes of commercials. And yeah, it does seem that NASCAR is all they show anymore; I just got a digital cable box last weekend and I'm getting all the channels (not sure what's going on...might be an enticement from the cable company or maybe its a screwup) and it seems like the block from 8am to 8pm is solid NASCAR, and then they show everything else from 8pm to 8am. When I lose all the channels I'm not going to pay to get Speed...not worth it.
