Newbie with some questions

hey guys and gals i was hoping i could get some knowledgeable insight from you all.
I dont have a focus yet. In fact i'm scheduled to go test drive an 04 svt focus this weekend so i'm in the middle of shopping and researching. i think i'm leaning most towards whatever generation this 04 svt is.

My question(s) is(are), what are some general things to look out for?

anything focus specific that i should be aware of that are dead give aways to let me know if the car is good or not?

what are some typical issues among these cars?

and i guess any other input you feel like throwing in there.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site, these two threads should cover most of the standard SVT buying concerns. Tons of info on this site, just need to search around for it.

As rambleon said, to FF. There is a wealth of SVT specific (as well as general Focus) knowledge on these forums. Here are a couple of starting points.

Remember that SVTFs are generally 10 year old cars, and while they were very advanced for their time, regular maintenance was, and is, the most important ingredient in a happy relationship with an SVTF. Having said that, my experience is that my SVTF is one of the most competent, and rewarding cars (out of more than fifty) I have owned. Good luck!
