It looks like there are 2 sensors on the Thermostat Housing. One of mine wasn't hooked up, Can someone tell me what they are for. One appears to be on top and the other on the bottom. It was my bottom sensor that wasn't hooked up.

Thanks,
Bill

(x2) Grab a pipe plug at the hardware store for the bottom port.

quick question

So I need to replace the thermostat housing on my foci (01 zetec) I did a bunch of reading and searching. Im hoping u guys can help me out. Do I need to use a contour housing or buy the rockauto dorman replacement. But not sure if it has a temp sensor. How can I tell ? What would be the best route.

I used the contour 2 piece housing. You need to get the sensor also, and it goes in the top port and plugs right in. You should get the 3 bolt/screws that hold the two parts together, but the 2 bolts that hold it on the block can be re-used, and get a pipe plug at the hardware store for the bottom un-used port. I replaced my thermostat and gasket at the same time, but it was not necessary. (went with a 180 degree as suggested by many here) Has worked well, no issues.

There are many write-ups with part #'s if you do a search.
