Could you do it safely? And what would you charge?

You sure he doesn't mean the 1.6 turbo/2.0 turbo engines? I think the Fusion and Escape literally share those engines, but the Focus ST is the only one with a 2.0 turbo, but it's tuned differently.

Focus 2.0 N/A is not like those at all. And Escape/Fusion have a 2.5 N/A, so it's another different engine. If it fits, go for it. But Focus (non ST/electric) have different engines than Escape/Fusion.

I don't know much about turbos, but I feel like if they were this universal, someone would have done it?

I've done a little bit of reading on this subject matter... If you want to go custom turbo, the manifolds for the previous gen Duratec should fit these new Duratecs. I read a thread that says the F2 header is a direct bolt on (The header for the old Duratec) so why shouldn't the turbo manifold be the same? Get you one of those manifolds, a turbo, and weld up a downpipe and run charge piping to an intercooler then to the throttle body and you've pretty much done it. I know I just made that sound super simple, and it's not. But it is possible. Like Tom said, he feels confident he can tune it, so no problems there!

Will the Ecoboost turbo from an ST fit on to a regular Duratec 2.0 L?

At a minimum everything in the diagram plus the head from a Focus ST, as well as to tap into the engine block for an oil feed and return line for the turbo among other parts not included with the turbocharger itself.

If you were to swap the entire engine it would bolt right in with a bit of fettling, but it's less simple to start throwing parts at it.

For a simplified idea of what you'd need to do see MCM for reference.
