Short throw shifter question

So I just purchased a bunch of parts and a short throw shifter came with it , just wondering if it will fit my svt because it's from a regular focus. Thanks .

I may be wrong, but it shouldn't work for several reasons.

- Completely different transmission, brand and all.
- 6 speed vs 5 speed.

The only way I see it working is if the short shifter is only the piece that connects to the shift linkage inside the car, and doesn't include the actual shifter connected to the trans. And if that's the case, be warned- your gears won't feel any shorter but the length of the shifter will and it will feel awkward. As if you took the OEM shifter and simply cut it down. And even then it may not work- 6 speed vs 5 speed.
