My Focus with snow tires out performed a lot of 4x4 and AWD vehicles with lesser tires. When I was staying in Frisco, CO, we took my car on several powder days instead of my buddy's 4x4 F150 with 50% tread all seasons. Made it over Vail Pass in the early AM when it was basically not plowed. I was also the last car let onto Berthoud Pass before they closed it for weather, and made it over no problem.

Berthoud Pass. Imagining driving this in a blizzard.

Like all vehicles, snow performance depends entirely on he tires.
Get snow tires and laugh at mere mortals on all seasons

I would put snow tires on my focus, but we only get 5-6 snows a year,if that. Can't Justify spending the money on a set of snow tires for the minimal use they would see. So the truck gets some use. It does GREAT in the snow!!

This. I got stuck a couple times my first winter in 2005 with all-seasons (no-seasons) on the car. Swapped to snows and haven't run a winter without them.
