can 18 inch alloys go on a mk1 1.4 focus

Hi i bought 18 inch bk racing alloys for my mk1 1.4 focus. But i have been told by a workmate that they can not go on my car as its a 1.4 and it would damage the suspension and bearings and also the engine would struggle. Any info and help would be great thanks.

Honestly I dunno about the engine size.

But depending on offset and width, 18s will fit a mk1 no problem. I had no issues with suspension problems and I'm lowered 2.2inches. I did how ever have to roll the rear fender lip flat.

I have 18x7.5 et45 on my mk1.

Your friend from work doesn't know much about cars, it seems.

They will be fine.
