Installed flashing brake light module

Hey! I have a new 2013 Hatch SE and I wanted to add this to get the attention of the texting teens driving behind me.

All that is needed to install:
T20 Bit
8mm socket
Wire strippers
Solder
Torch
Heat shrink
Flashing brake light module

I popped off this panel to find three 8mm bolts.
On each side of the spoiler there are two T20 screws. Also I removed the brake light that is held in by two T20 screws.

Here is the spoiler removed.

Here is the bottom of the spoiler. There are two white clips that hold the spoiler on car. They just pop off.

Here is the module. There is a side that says in (coming from car) and out (to light).

Yellow/grey is 12volts when brake is applied. Black/white is ground. So solder red to yellow/grey and black to black/white.

Wires all connected and permanent.

Here is a link to a video of it installed.

Nice. I've been pondering over one of these for about a week. What vendor did you use and how much ? The eBay sellers info is kind of vague.

I have a guy that comes by my shop. He sells LEDs, Hids, and a lot of different stuff. I got mine for $15. He doesn't ship out to people. But if you are interested I could ship it out to you.

I have installed three different flash modules and although they worked with only the ignition on, they failed once the car was running. Your module looks different because the ones I have all interrupt the hot line but not the ground. Focus has modulated current which is incompatible with most of the moduled you can find on the open market. Glad you found a friend with a different module that worked.

I noticed that too. The ones I saw on eBay are like that.

Found what looks like the same module.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flash-Strobe...p2054897.l4276

This one I have never tested. I just ordered one. 4th module I've ordered. First three were a no go when car running. Let's see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.
