Repairing a dropped valve seat is a lot easier, and a lot cheaper than a zetec swap. Not sure how anyone would be "a lot better off" with a zetec. It's a good motor, and has good aftermarket support, but its not like your going from a two stroke weedwacker motor to a v8.... Is 20 more HP really worth swapping engine harness, ECU, exhaust manifold, flex pipe, alternator, coolant hoses, fuel rail line, intake tube, engine mount and bracket, atx transmission harness, power steering line and pump, throttle cable, cruise control cable, positive and negative battery cables, a/c compressor, and flex plate, on top of the engine swap? your are still driving a slow econobox.
You will save time, money, and headache by keeping the SPI. And the new head will prevent any further valve seat problems.
There are some companies on ebay that have a good reputation on here for their remanufactured heads. I think heads only (cylinder heads international), and clearwater heads both have had good reviews on here.
