Question Question Regarding Side Markers

Please let this not be an idiotic question.

So I have been looking at my side markers and plan to replace them with something such as this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-04-FORD-F...2e37ea&vxp=mtr

I noticed that my markers have bulbs inside of them. Are these bulbs supposed to actually light up at all? My markers give off no light whatsoever whether I have my lights on or I'm blinkering or whatever else. Does this mean that both of the bulbs are burned out?

Also, does anyone have any opinions on the side markers in the link above?

Thanks

Your stock bulbs are clear - the amber housings are there to change the color of the light outputted.

If you get those black housings (or clear), you'll need to pick up amber bulbs. Your local Vatozone or other bargain automotive store will have them. They're the same number as the clear ones, just with an amber coating.

Yes, those side markers are supposed to light up and parking lights and also flash with the signal. First thing to try would be replacing the existing bulbs with amber ones when you get your new side markers and seeing if they work then. Most likely a previous owner simply didn't replace the bulbs when they burnt out.
