Seat Swap

Okay, so the factory seats in my ZX3 seem to have broken metal rods in the base, and the driver's side leans (there are other issues with them as well). I've seen the fix for the lean, but I'm not sure that I want to mess with pulling the seat all the way apart, and I can't weld, so I don't think that's for me. Has anyone here swapped seats in from a different car with any success? I'm thinking a set of T-Bird/Cougar/MKVIII seats, or maybe the newer Cougar (the FWD version), or possibly a Mustang/Probe, etc. Just wondering if anyone has been able to, as I can get a pair of used seats from the pull-a-part for ~$60. I know that most of the floor pans won't allow for a direct bolt in, but if the seats will swap sliders (done that before on an S10 for Camaro seats), it may be an easy bolt in.

you would need to see if the brackets/mounting points are the same or buy a new bracket/slider to mount the two. Normally switching seats from different make/models require some fabrication.

Any Focus seat from 00-07 is a direct swap, plenty at junk yards. Everyone like SVT seats, keep an eye out for those

Just grab the seat frames from pick n' pull. Otherwise, Corbeau CR1 reclining race seats are $300 bucks a piece plus frame plus shipping...

but totally worth it.

Saloon Upgrade

Hi,
I would like to upgrade my saloon in my ford focus MK1 to MK2.
I have a few questions, does all MK2 versions(2004 - 2009) seats are direct swap with MK1? or only until 2007 as was mention here before?
and does the backseat of 5 and 4 doors version are identical?

my plan to is upgrade all my saloon to 2007 - 2009 4(If the backseat will feet) or 5 doors.

thanks
