Wouldn't a severe toe in cause the tire to touch the strut? Imagine if the tie rod was longer in the pic below, wouldn't the tire straighten out vertically? Please note the tie rod pic was taken from the rear perspective and the tire on the strut pic was taken from the front perspective. I appreciate your comments and I'm not trying to be argumentative. Thank you for your patience.

It looks like wishful thinking has it's limits. You all were right. I got the strut off & it definitely looks bent to me. The control arm looked straight so I'm getting a strut & tie rod...hopefully, that will do it. I'll post back when I get the parts on. Thank you, everyone, it helps to bounce ideas off people with knowledge.

Nope, the tire, wheel, steering knuckle and lower strut tube are all essentially one rigid body that move together in steer and ride motion. For the tire to rub the strut tube, something has to have deformed within those parts.... as you later discovered.

Bingo^^^^^ You bent the strut where it goes into the spindle. The strut is the weakest link which is good vs a arm or mounts. One more reason to stick to easy get, popular struts/coilovers. If that was a H&R, K/W coilover he could of got just that one.
