My local Ford dealer quoted me ~$700 for a timing belt job that included a new water pump and new serpentine belt pulleys. I ended up doing it all myself and it cost me ~$225.

thanks for the reply.

thats more of what i expected. My dad got a quote the other day and ford said $300... I asked him if that included doing the water pump and pulleys also which i was guessing no.

Im looking at picking up a focus and figure ill have to do a timing belt, was planning on doing it myself-

thanks

If car in question is a SVT then you could potentially spend WAY more than that, they commonly bend valves if the belt breaks.

Wow your Ford dealers are cheap. My local Ford dealer wanted about $1200 just to do the timing belt and to have the car a day and a half at least.
