And me. On the edge of selling my 01 (bought new) to move into a 13 or 14.
I read this and it sways me more to keep the 01. I liked the article.

12 years and 96K miles of worry free driving.
And I would not think twice about hopping in the car to drive across the country. Ok maybe twice due to gas prices.

I also have had no real serious issues with the 01. DPFE under warranty, fog in headlights under warranty and when the known bad plug to the coil went bad it took out my CAT (not under warranty). Even the one time it seemed to leave me stranded (coil pack plug went bad) on the road I called a tow truck and that was enough to scare the car into starting and get me home.

I was in exactly the same boat when I bought my '12. I decided to "refresh" my slightly neglected '01 and sell it. After I did the work, I fell back in love with it. My wife drives it now and she loves it too!

EDIT: - I just noticed are 01's are almost identical. Pwr prem, roof, SVT suspension, cat back. I'll probably hit my for years to come if I let it go.

I'm still on the fence about it.

I know what you mean about falling back in love with it. I have been fighting a leak in the hatch area (not from the common spots) and I was kind of having fun and getting frustrated at the same time. I think I finally got it though

Unfortunately I can't keep it in the family. If I sell, it will be part of down payment on replacement. I'm also letting go of a truck ('72 F250) I have owned end wrenched on since 1997.
