I have found, like stated above, Motorcraft is the only way to fly on spark plugs in any Ford vehicle I've owned. They don't seem to like anything else.

I'll be sticking with OEM for almost everything, but may check out brakes from different vendors.

I just went through this drill:

OEM for motor mounts:

1. learned this the hard way. My mechanic replaced a motor mount December 2012. By March, it had ruptured. In April, he replaced it again. By May, the same (from Napa) ruptured again, this time, wedging the lid in to the belt, sanding down about 1/3rd of the belt.

My mechanic swore that he replaced more than 20 motor mounts with NAPA and never had issues. I have been with the Ford OEM motor mount for at least four months; no issues.

2. Belt and tensioner pulley - definitely OEM. A couple years ago, I was having "chatter" in spite of replacing the belt with an aftermarket and the tensioner pulley. Turns out, my mechanic discovered the aftermarket belt was about 1/16" inch out of spec compared to the OEM. Once he put the Motorcraft belt in, no more chatter, and it has stayed that way.

3. Just replaced my plugs and plug wires on 9/16 - Motorcraft

4. Today: just replaced my coil assembly with Motorcraft, but, the label said it is made in China.

In summary, b/c of issues with aftermarket belts and motor mounts, I have found myself gravitating toward OEM.

Exception: head lamp assembly. Don't waste your time with the the 3M Headlamp polishing kit. The polishing lasts for about 2 years, then starts to fog up again.

I went on Amazon, and found two full headlamp assemblies, aftermarket, for $65 that included bulbs. Now, the bulbs are garbage, one burned out in less than a week, but the assemblies look great, are close enough for the mounting holes for screws (but slightly off). I've had my aftermarket headlamp assemblies (with my Sylvania bulbs) installed now for two years, and they look as new as they did the day I installed them.

Thanks man. Finally with some free time (and money) I'm ordering my parts.
Pretty much all OEM. Pay the expenses now so I don't have to break my bank later!
