How can I find a transmission leak?

I have a small tranny leak.It shows on fluid level,drops 1/16-1/8in. every 100-200 miles.
No puddles, pulled my middle console to rewire OD button,it was broken and no plug was on it.
Without my center console in cab,I can smell tranny fluid burning and this early this morning I could see steam/smoke coming up through rolled down window. When it gets above 80 and I drive for at least a good 45 minutes,I can really smell fluid burning inside cab especially with center console out.
If I leave it running on cement no drippage, even if I go to reverse then drive, reverse drive etc.. to keep fluid moving.
I don't see any smoke coming out of tail pipe,no oil in water, water in fluid, but fluid in oil may be hard to spot but stick level stays constant on oil dip-stick.If leaking into oil it would seem level on dip-stick would climb.

If it is getting burned up,what mod or could it be a seal, then it might hit exhaust manifold and burn away.
I may give the motor/tranny and under a good cleaning.Maybe I'll see some fresh fluid bleeding through.
After market stop leak,I just don't like using stop leak in a tranny and it can be a temporary fix.
If it's going through tail-pipe what color may tail-pipe be?
Any other suggestions on where or how to find this leak?Or if it is a bad mod or sensor of some type?
I can disengage OD and if my up-shifting into OD starts acting up,it stops.
If I don't push OD button it may not go into OD.
