Bridgestone S-04 - Great deal!

Bridgestone has stepped up their game again. This time they have lowered their pricing on the Potenza S04 Pole Position maximum performance tire while at the same time there is a $70 mail in rebate offer running. I never try to push stuff on here, but I love this tire and thought I would share.

However like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Potenza S-04 Pole Position features an asymmetric tread design with a large outboard shoulder, interlocking tread blocks and a central circumferential rib to enhance dry road steering response, high speed stability and cornering precision. High angle tread blocks in the intermediate ribs promote longitudinal stiffness to enhance straight-line braking forces while slanted lateral grooves pump water into wide circumferential grooves to help resist hydroplaning. Another continuous circumferential rib adjacent to the inside shoulder blocks enhances wear quality to help reduce noise throughout the life of the tire, especially on cars with alignment settings that specify negative camber.

The tire's internal structure features a lightweight belt package consisting of twin steel belts supported by a spirally wrapped aramid/nylon cord reinforcement that enhances ride quality and high speed durability. Active rubber inserts in the sidewalls near the bead areas tune vertical sidewall stiffness to blend cornering grip with ride comfort.

I am a big fan of the Potenza S04 Pole Position. It offers great steering response and driver feedback when pushed hard. It also delivers exceptional wet traction and combines that performance with very nice road manners. Combine that with the rebate and the new lower pricing it's a win/win situation for anybody looking to upgrade to a real drivers tire.

here's link to the rebate info:

Put these on my car this past Friday. So far I love them. Had Continental DW tires b4 which were great. Just about through breakin period with these. So far they are quieter than the DW's. They also corner better with quicker steering response due to a firmer sidewall. The DW's had a kinda soft sidewall. About to start testing the limits of their cornering ability and then to see how they do in the wet. Overall so far they are performing better than the DW's. Very happy especially with the $70 rebate.

What size are you running? The new Michelin AS3 has some great wet/dry performance but works in the winter being an all-season tire as well.

Tons of different options out there, but what size do you have?

I love the Bridgestone Pole Position All Seasons. I have the 960 AS but have heard the 970's are better. they are a good all season tire. they also come with the $70 gift card.

How do these compare with the older S-03 Pole Position? I had two sets on my old car - I loved them - when I called to get my third set Luke told me they were discontinued (this was before the S-04 was released) and I got the Goodyear Eagle F1. I was not quite as happy with them.
