Is that the official reason, because the MFT favorites are gone, or are they just de-contenting? Obviously my SYNC/MyFord-equipped SE has the SYNC paddle with no favorites buttons. I wouldn't want to give up my right D-pad menu control just because the higher-optioned ICE system lost an option...

I don't know the official reason, but it's in the 2014 Owners guide that the sync commands are in the D-Pad instead of the music mode/ menu controls.

It's basically just de-contenting since the 13 was essentially identically set up to the 12 in terms of control layout for cars with Sync with or without MFT.

The favorites had been taken away with MFT V 3.3.1 or something afaik though, replaced with the home and sync information / sync services screen.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm just glad I can control the menus from the wheel. Not that I use the menus that much, but it seems like it's less of a distraction when controlled that way.

So at night when everything is lit up does that look super lopsided since you are missing the "mirrored" control buttons on the right?

A little bit haha it takes some getting used to. I do like having the open area so I can place my hands there. I'll go to try to hit the volume button from time to time and realize it's not there any more haha

Since they removed the sync "paddle" they need to figure out another place to put the cruise control buttons and put proper flappy paddles there instead of the terrible +/- buttons on the shifter.

Yes, the DCT needs proper paddle shifter like almost all other cars have. Those little buttons on the shifter dont do it with regard to spirited shifting.

This is interesting..I have never touched the "favourites" buttons and have always pressed the "send" button on the MFT screen when I get a call..This would take some getting used to but I think that's a better setup. I do like the rear paddle style voice control button however.

I actually like having the space between the wheel there. It felt pointless to have the control buttons for the stereo on the wheel when the buttons for the stereo on the center console are about a foot away. I have from time to time hit the voice control button thinking that is the ok button, but i've gotten used to it and like it
