Tire set up for ASA AR1s?

Hey, I'm running 17x7 ASA AR1s on my 2010 focus and are currently using 21545R17 Eagle GTs. I want to go ahead and plan the next set I get. I really like the Eagle GTs, but they don't "look" that great with the ASA AR1s since the GTs make the wheels "sink" in from the protective lip on the tire.

My question is what is a good tire that would look better and more suitable for those wheels and be similar or better quality than the Eagle GTs. I'm really looking for something thats not beefy. I have been looking online, but the pictures do not do much justice and the wheels are different. I was wondering if anyone that had the same wheels or similar ones could chime in and help me out.

Thanks, Alex!

Hey Alex, Thats the way protective sidewalls work on tires now. Its there to protect the wheel. I wouldn't worry about it & run them. I did notice the Goodyear gt's are a little more then others. I like how the tire manufactors are doing this now.

Yeah I do appreciate the lip protection for the wheel, and have been noticing more and more tires are going to have that lip. I guess what I'm trying to find is a tire with less lip or maybe a new tire that would look better with the lip haha sorry if that doesn't make sense.

You could look at Continetials DW's/ DWS's.

I have heard great things about both the continentals and michelins. Is it possible to get some pictures of some foci with those tires if you are running them on your cars?

here's mine... 205/45/17 Continental DWS on a 17x7 +42 wheel.

I don't really understand what the problem is though... if you want something "not beefy" then simply go with a narrower and lower profile tire! ask the "stance" guys what they're stretching onto 7" wide wheels, because I have no idea lol. lurk around the StanceWorks forums for long enough and I'm sure you'll get an idea of what you need.
