I am also very relieved to have dumped my focus and have a new mazda-3 which is a pleasure everyday to drive. This DCT problem does not make all Fords bad, it is just a terrible response to a defective transmission ,

You can add me to the list of former owners. The Focus is gone.

I was originally going to lease a 2014 Mazda 3, but the lease was just ridiculous. I ended up getting into an Infinti Q50 for about the same money as the Mazda. The InTune system is brand new and glitchy, but not as bad as MFT ever was at the beginning. Unlike the MFT, Infiniti built in a reboot function that's simple to use.
The transmission on the Q50 actually works! :)

too bad they were greedy on the lease, I think there is a 2.5 175hp version of the 2014 mazda-3 with 38+mpg highway.
From what I read they had to re-arrange things spacewise to get the larger motor and headers in the body design.

Then why in the world did you toss money at an extended warranty?

Indeed. The warranty on my car has been worthless. It has numerous problems that Ford refuses to fix. Visits to numerous dealerships have done nothing but waste my time and damage my car. What good is a warranty that the manufacturer won't honor? What good are dealership service departments that are incapable of fixing anything?

Every day I wish I hadn't bought this car.

And if I had not bought the extended warranty, I'd owe a lot less on this piece of junk, and I'd be that much closer to being able to trade it in on something else.... ANYTHING ELSE.

Didn't have problems with my DCT but I want to say that I can understand how annoying this should be.

Me too. Liked the car a lot, transmission has re-enforced my opion of Ford quality though. My last one was a Fairmont, what a POS that was! Swore I'd never own another Ford. Then the 2013 Focus got rave reviews, they didn't take bailout money, it's been few decades....
I now have a 2014 Mazda 6. Hopefully the relationship with this car goes a lot better.
One thing I do have to say though, I like the Ford's Sync better than what Mazda has in thier infotainment system.
