My 12v outlets power back on when I unlock the doors, oddly enough, not when I open them as I had previously suspected. I can tell because my radar detector beeps loudly when I grab the door handle. I do have a Ti with smart entry if that makes any difference. Should make for a pretty cool effect if the ambient lights power on when the doors are unlocked.
