catalytic converter for a pzev

so i'm looking into replacing my catalytic converter myself, rather than dropping a thousand something and having a shop do it. is there anything that i need to know in regards to my car being a pzev?

You most likely have two catalytic converters; the main one is built into the header/exhaust manifold and then a second one after the flex pipe.

Only way of replacing the first one is find a duratec header that has one in working condition (i.e used from a junker or new from Ford.) That should be a pretty straight forward swap, only real issues is working around the heat shields and tight bolts.

Thanks for the to reply. I'm gonna put my car on jacks and take a look tomorrow night. Two seems kinda weird. I did some further reading and it looks like what I need is a "manicat". Anyone else have any experience with this? Anything is appreciated
