Programmer for a Canadian

I've been reading a lot of info on programmers and the like. From what I've read, an SCT tuner and Tom fixing it up is the way to go. I currently have a K&N filter inside factory air box, and recently changed the plugs and wires to MSD super conductor. All I have left to do is exhaust and electronics.

My problem is I'm Canadian, and don't have access to the same advantages my American neighbours do. I'd love to get a Tom's Tune, but don't wanna get by border fees and the like.

Do I just bite the bullet and do what I gotta to get a Tom's tune, or buy an SCT pre loaded with something for the Focus?

I highly recommend getting a custom tune for it. A local member of ours had the Xcal3 with the cookie cutter tune on it, but just recently had Tom tune it at FocusFest and it's soo much better, like night and day difference better he says. I also just got a tune from Tom and I will say it's sooo much nicer driving my SVT. It used to feel pretty weak till I got to 5k rpm and the runners would switch, then it was a rocket. Now it's a different animal completely, even sounds better too. I am very happy and pleased with it and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again in a heartbeat. It drives like it should have from the factory. No more bog off the line, or weirdness that the stock tune had to it. Like I said well worth it IMO, but we've known for years now that the SVT's do great with a tune, even the factory adjusted the tune mid way through it's production due to the weirdness the original tunes had.

But you still can buy SCT/Predator on ebay (unlocked) and then just pay Tom for a tune. It's a file that he will send you through an email and you will load into that device. So no border fees...
