It will be. Just a matter of time. Been too busy with other cars that I haven't had time for my own. I'm 99% done with one car, then I have a bike to pull in and get running, a Silverado that needs the engine torn down and inspected, an LS next week that is overheating, and another Eclipse to put a motor in. Once I get caught up I'll get the Focus back in the shop. On the plus side, I will now have the funds to make some good progress here in about a month. I think for now I'm going to get it running on a stock 6 bolt 2.0 (14b or 16g turbo, stock ecu, etc) and get the bugs worked out. Once I am happy with that, I will build the 2.3.

This project has not been forgotten!

More projects keeping me from this one. I've done some thinking about it this week and where I was going to try to get the motor set in first, I've decided to tackle the rear end first. This seems to make sense so that when I go to drop the motor/transmission/transfer case in I can make sure that I only have to cut the front crossmember once for clearance and I don't end up with a weird driveshaft angle. So this week I'll try to finish up a couple of projects here and get some shop space back then roll FrankenFocus back in to keep stripping while I work on an engine refresh and see what I can find for a rear end next week. Still thinking IRS from a T-Bird or Mark. Just depends on what I can find here locally.

Did some searching and this is what I found for track widths
ZX3 - 1494 mm (rear only)
RS - 1514 mm
Mark 8 - 1529 mm

A Mark 8 IRS should fit nicely as far as width goes. Other measurements I'll have to get once I hit up the local yard.

Necrobump for update.. I dont know if this idea is more complicated or not, but how about an FC Rx7 IRS? The width would be good, and is strong enough to withstand up to 500 HP (Turbo or NA versions).

He was lying / dreaming.
Why can't people understand that?
