OBX Header or tune?

I realize there was another one of these "under $500" performance threads earlier this week but I would like some clarification w/ a little personal recommendation.

I would like to know which yield better results on my 07 atx, a tune from 1turbofocus on these forum or a new OBX header? Keeping in mind that I will likely never add any other performance upgrades other than a possible cai as I have other toys and not enough time or money to drop into my DD for minor performance.

People say they all enjoy the increases from a tune but at the price point it doesn't seem wise to invest since there will be no future upgrades to increase the effectiveness of the tune. My thought process for the header is that it will yield almost the same hp gain and also give me a little sound for my stock exhaust. Big question about the header, is adding an aftermarket header with stock exhaust a waste of time? Anyone with experience with starting with these two mods have some insight?

Do a CAI and 2.5" exhaust first, why do an untuned header when everything else is still corked up? Your stock exhaust is only 1-7/8". CAI will be the best bang for your buck on a duratec focus anyway

When I did the OBX I had CAI and 2.5" exhaust and it seemed to just add noise. Shortly after I got a tune from Focus Sport (now FSW) and that really brought it all together. A tune will also help with improving atx performance

Thanks for the info Bb, for some reason I thought I remember reading that the header was the main offender in the exhaust system.

Do you think doing a stealth CAI with a tune would yield better results than the same CAI with 2.5" exhaust or vice versa?

I am trying to limit myself to only two performance upgrades so that I do not get sucked into building a quick atx.

Nice thing about a tune from me is you get free tune updates as you add more NA mods so I am always for doing the tune first where you can be enjoying it as your modding

Ive never seen a dyno of a car with a header and the stock exhaust. Stealth CAI (or a good used CAI on here ~$100) and a tune would probably be the best start with an auto. Then add on the full exhaust in a year when you wake up all sweaty after dreaming of more power
