I'd rather see a lifted truck then one scrapping the ground, personally. Are they compensating for something? probably? but the lifted truck still has the potential to be useful (Glassmaker's first example not withstanding). Having a lifted truck that actually uses the lift and 4 wheel drive on a regular basis is one of my dreams.

With a dropped truck, you are completely destroying the original purpose of the vehicle. you have basically taken a very useful and versatile vehicle and removed every potential use except grocery getter.

A grocery getter that high-centers on a cigarette butt. I'm embarassed FOR the people who take a perfectly nice truck and slam it.

I must disagree. This is my daily. I dont daily my focus, yes I know. Makes sense right, daily the vehicle that gets 17 mpg vs 30 mpg lol. Anyway, its my 98 F150, 6/7 drop, lightning wheels, 5.4 with the 9.75 axle. Got all the goods. Navigator dash, expedition center console and buckets. Point is, its low as shit(frame 4 inches from ground) and I dont get hung up on a damn thing and rarely scrape it anywhere. And I got tons of friends with trucks that sit on the ground. Gotta love bags, they can get lower than I and pick it up and get more clearance than I could ever get. Point being, I've always believed, if its 2wd, slam that shit, if its 4wd lift that shit. Stock sucks.

I have already expressed my opinion on lowered trucks. And I feel yours is no different.

Nothing personal... just seems like a waste of a perfectly good truck.

The best way to tell if someone has good or bad taste is to look at the vehicles they own.

Some people have really bad taste.

Nothing like dragging frame while towing a truck. Or van. So much win in the above pics.

Have y'all ever seen somebody tow a heavy load with a lifted truck? It can be done, but lifting a truck seriously compromises stability. The center of gravity is raised, and in a lot of cases the suspension is softened and the steering geometry is thrown off. The big balloon tires flex a lot and usually have a low weight capacity, and their increased diameter works against both gear reduction and braking power. It's all a perfect recipe for a squirrely ride.

Now I can see how a lowered truck could tow just fine if it's done right, though I don't really see the point. In 99% of cases, if the truck is being used as a truck, the stock setup works best. Plus it's a lot easier and cheaper to just leave it the way it is.
