Has anyone seen the new article in car and driver comparing the 2015 Volkswagen gti vs. Ford focus st.

Its the only article I have read that edges out the st.granted they had to go to the year 2015 ,use the European version which is projected to have 15 more horse power than the US version, and avoid a rally test because of " wet weather"(really), to win, but whatever I would like to hear what everyone else thinks.

I read it. I subscribe to car and driver. Kind of dissapointed but its obvious VW had to step up there game because the ST is its primary competition. The ST has been well received by most the auto mags. So I chalk that up as a win

The funny thing is, i have heard rumors that ford is bringing the focus rs to the US in 2015.I guess all the competition is good for us the consumer.I still think car and driver is a little biased.they have always seemed to like Volkswagens.

I have heard rumors too of a 300 hp st basically but would be called the RS. Guess we will find out. The ST appears to be a hit, so maybe Ford will invest more into it. I hope they do, hope it dont end up like the SVT focus where they just kind of forgot about it

Agreed, they just seem to favor imports for some reason. That said, I thought they went a long way to compliment how fun the ST is to drive and how much value there is in the car. They do the same thing whenever they have shootouts and the Mustang is in contention...it never wins but they talk endlessly about what a damn blast it is to drive.

Yes indeed. Most of the newer ford products have been reviewing well. Which I love to see being the die hard ford enthusiast that I am.
