Plus, it takes two shifts to reach 60 MPH! The Grease-Slapper, with it's 5-speed could wind past 60 all day in 2nd, but this car's 6-speed has some really sort legs. I've read this hinders 0-60 by 1/4 second. But I'm not complaining. I'm a type-A driver who enjoys going from point-A to point-B as much as arriving at a destination. The tranny shifts very slick too, btw.

You can get a tune that will allow you to fully disable the stability control. First mod for an R.

about that mod

I've read where it has not made a dramatic difference, as in 1/10 of a second. I'll try to find where I read that, but it gave me pause. On the other hand I've also read that a bump in power will cause the Haldex to transfer more power to the rear wheels more quickly. It's on the internet, so it has to be true!
thank you for replying anyway. I'll do my due-diligence to get more educated on the mod.

Nice R, looks stealthier in black.

thanks Mac!

I think it's pretty stealthy too. It's a VW Golf, after all, and looks like a lot of generic hatchbacks out there. So far only a kid driving an older Accord has given me a thumbs-up. No one seems to notice the car, which is a good thing.
