The SVT engine has a great setup, but is by no means the only way to "skin-a-cat" powerwise for a Focus. Having the SVT head is a cool feather to have in your cap, but the power comparison between a cammed non-SVT engine and an engine with a full SVT head conversion would be a decent gap.

Just a question: if the two options you're considering were going to cost you the same coin; would you rather have a faster car or a more unique car?

It is a decent gap. Just not in the direction you're thinking (I think):

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is this a combined dyno of the svt head and the cammed zetec head or just the dyno for your zetec with the svt head?

Zetec, SVT head. Head was shaved and ported. Stock SVT intake, airbox to manifold.

Other dyno's can be found here -> http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101161

Thanks... Sounds like it was a ton of work on that svt head... Any idea what it would cost to have a machine shop do all that??

Having the head shaved is cheap, $60 at most.
The port work, that could be anything. I figure I've got 100+ hours into it. Problem is i can't say if it's worth it or not. I never ran the car with a stock shaved head. I'd like to think my port work helped lots, but I honestly don't think it did.
More money/time I'd have it flowed vs stock (I've a few spare heads).

All I know is I have more dyno power than any FR head I've seen.

I was looking threw the post about hp on your car... Your car is def amazing... So did the svt head bolt right to my zetec block? Also would it be good if I decided to turbo my car? I wouldn't be going anything crazy... But would love to be 200-235 whp... Thanks again for all the info...
