2003 door trim

can it be removed without leaving holes in the door? I've seen quite a few lacking door trim and there are no holes.

You mean all of the trim? Got any examples for hole-less doors?

If you're going for gutted race interior just weld some sheet metal over the cavities of the door.

You will have holes left behind if I remember correctly. First gen Foci have the holes in the door while 1.5 gen Foci don't have the holes. My 2002 had them before I filled them in.
