Unhappy engine started to rev like accelerator stuck

im a SVT newb, i recently purchased a SVTF 04 which has a tune ( not sure by whoom) . I just tried to clean the air filter today (K&N typhoon) and though that this might be a good time to clean the MAF also. I used the MAF cleaner on the sensor and the connector and then let it dry for 5 mins. Then when i put it back and start the car up . . whoa . .it was like the accelerator was stuck at full throttle all by itself ( i was not even touching the gas pedal).

I immediately turned it off. I disconnected the MAF sensor and the car went back to normal, but now it does not cross 2K rpm ( im guessing limp mode) .

Now that i look at the connector that connects to the MAF, some of the wire strands seem to be coming out ( i couldnt see properly, but i can not rule out a short in there)

Can someone explain what just happened to my car ? ? I am really scared of driving it now.

I would really appreciate it

ok, there is no short, but one of the wires seem to be stripped (see strands coming out)

edit: i also think that cleaner might not have dried fully in the MAF when i put it back . . can that be the cause ? ?

Did i just ruin my MAF ?

I would look for a Vac leak , if you have a tune you should have a flasher either a xcal or predator , lets see what a log looks like and I can better point you to what the issu might be

Thanks for replying :)

Yes, I have a XCAL 2 that came with the car. I just connected it to my PC for the first time. The LCD is very dim, can hardly read anything. When i try to capture it says "no capture files loaded".

Since you mentioned vacuum leaks, it could be possible that the small hose which connects to the side of the typhoon intake (before the throttle body) might have been lose - but isnt that for crank case ventilation ?

edit: never mind about dim lcd, contrast was too low. The tuner has 3 tunes 1. HIA ZED 0 Street, 2. TT10 and 3.TT9 and return to stock

Another thing that i just realized is i might have pushed the intake against the throttle body too much and then tightened it and that might have some how kept the throttle cable / throttle body open (maybe) - it was dark when i was working. This is embarrassing, but i hope this is what happened.
