I'm just curious what you graduated from college for (your major)?

@Crystal - thanks but no thanks. I already filed a complaint with corporate. Ford told me (multiple sources) there is nothing they can do because Sheehy is independantly owned and operated. The next step is to complain to Sheey itself - if my check doesn't come this week. The General Sales Manager at the dealership emailed me saying it was being sent out. Now I have proper documentation so there is no excuse.
@iminhell My major was Business Administration with a specialty in small business management. I know bad business when I see it.

Then you should also know how to read a contract and check math, and have a paper trail for documentation.

Oh and research, any dealer can make you a "Deal" whining about it here does nothing but make you look childish in every ones eyes.

Next time unfortunately you need to look for a larger dealer with credentials and ask more questions about what will occur with your financial dealings before handing over money or singing on the dotted line.

I got the $500 incentive check this month, after 7 months of hunting it down. That dealership was up to something fishy because they had claimed my check in February and it was just sitting even though they said they had no idea where it was. They actually lied to me several times about the check/incentive. I have it documented.

I did learn that I should have checked the credentials of this dealership before car shopping. It's sad because I assumed the car sales were controlled by Ford. In anycase I will never enter another Sheehy Autostore again. And I recomend the rest of you don't either. These people are straight-up crooks. look up their reviews/BBB files.

And just so you know, IAmTitanium, I did do all the math and kept all the paper trails. And this thread was part of that of that documentation/paper trail. So - stop trolling.

I bought a 2013 Focus earlier this month at Ted Britt in Fairfax, VA, and I asked about college discounts as a friend of mine got one on a Dodge Charger last year at a different dealership. All the dealer needed was proof, he allowed me to get online, print my transcript (he needed proof of me attending classes recently, which I have been since fall 2012), and proof of the name of the school, and $500 got knocked off.

IF you look at the bill of sale, at least in VA, the rebates get rolled into the downpayment (presuming you made one). I got a total of $3K in rebates on my purchase, although I forget what the other $2,500 was (I think some of it was being a first timer Ford Motor Credit purchase, as my credit is not the best, I had to go use them in this case).

I purchased in MD. They (Sheehy) had said the $500 would get mailed to me. I had to fight with Sheehy for like almost 8 months to get it back. It seems like they did everything in their power to avoid me.
Ford couldn't help at all because they said it was an independant onwer/operator.

One of the benefits of buying/registering a car in MD vs VA is the annual property tax that VA imposes on vehicle ownership.

I'm glad to hear Ted Britt hooked you up. I live in Fairfax right now and that is my preferred dealership as well.

Props to Ted Britt!

If you live in VA, the car must be registered there (same goes for living in MD) unless you are military or a full time college student. I just saw some cars over the weekend get ticketed in my apartment complex for not having city of Alexandria stickers.

Ted Britt treated me pretty well. I think the sales person could have showed off the car a little more than he did, but I think he knew I was dead set on this car, and wasn't going to look at anything else.
