VCT delete, is it worth it

I have a JRSC and was thinking about changing the cam. The Cat cams for an SVT are $750, I was thinking about a VCT delete set up. Car is not a daily driver, is it worth the expense to install a VCT delete. I know I car get a few horses/TQ by installing an exhaust cam gear. Your thoughts

If this isnt a daily driver then its up to you wont help or hurt either way , from what I have seen there is no gains from installing the an adj cam gear on the exh

If your going to have it all apart , add performance cams then ??????

i know this is an old thread but im having issues with my vct and i was wondering since i want to build a good N/A motor anyway is it ok to just delete it entirely? since it really just takes place of an egr will it hurt my performance at all? and is there anything special i need to do the delete? i saw the delete kit from massive speed. where can i get the adj cam gears? im getting ready to do the timing belt and water pump so i wanted to do everything at one time. btw i have a 2002 svtf

There is no loss in performance but its there for much more then emissions , you will need

massive VCT Elim , I had issues with the VCT Elim they sell as it was out of round and I trashed it , another guy bought the Exh bolt and started the engine and the bolt broke and he bent valves so be carefull , I would use the stock Exh bolt

2 adj cam gears
2 cam seals
dyno time to adjust the adj cam gears

There are 2 types of SVT cams one idles very nice with the VCT Elim and one lopes very bad and has idle issues to the point you have to unhook the IACV and idle off the idle screw

If the VCT is working properly I would keep it
