Ball Joint question

Hi, I hope I'm posting this in the correct sub-forum, if not I apologize.

I have a stupid question, I drive an '07 Focus, and was wondering if it has ball joints in the rear (I'm NOT at all car savvy, I take good care of my car, and I love it, but that's where my knowledge ends).

I ask because I have had a "bed spring" like squeak in the rear passenger side for a while. I took it to my mechanic immediately, who told me it was just a dried bushing and not to worry.

Tonight I was talking to a friend who is a mechanic (not for Ford), and mentioned it, and he started worrying about ball joints. He said he didn't think Focus had rear ones, but because he doesn't work on Fords he wasn't 100% sure. He said if it doesn't have rear ball joints than he would be inclined to agree with my mechanic, and wouldn't be worried (who I've trusted for years, but when it comes to safety you can never be too safe).

I tried searching, and just couldn't find my answer, so wondered if you folks could answer my silly question. Thanks in advance

Ball joints are only used for wheels that must turn left/right for steering. Should answer your question.
