My very first NEW car!!!

Getting a 2013 ST1 in Ingot Silver on Wednesday . This will be my first new car. I'm doing a double trade in...my 2002 Jeep G. Cherokee and my beloved 2004 VW Jetta 1.8T. Each have 160k miles so I figured it was time to get while the gettin' was good. I'm super excited and can't wait to get behind the wheel of this thing. Not sure I will do much with it. Maybe tune it, CIA, possibly new exhaust at some point and perhaps lower the stance just slightly. I need to do lots of reading to see what the best parts are for these mods. I'll be driving it stock for a while though. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and happy to join the Focus Family!!!

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. I just bought a 13 ST1 in April this year and love it. It is a really fun car to drive. I hope you have alot of money to spend on gas. Your going to find yourself wanting to drive this car all the time. Here is a link to the ST forum were you can learn alot about the ST. I know I did.

at least you are starting out the right way :) Buy the long warranty if you can and let Ford worry about its well-being for the duration

Keep the Jeep for the winter! Keep it maintained and it should still have some life left in it.

Congratulations Nubster, excellent choice! The ST is a gas to drive right out of the box, and if you decide to hop it up, there are lots of options. Enjoy that new car!

Thanks everyone. I'm super excited. The dealership called just a little while ago to confirm they were able to locate the ST I wanted in silver. It'll be at the dealership waiting for me on Wednesday. I'm also going down to the southern part of the state tomorrow to pickup my new work car...a Ford Interceptor with the Eccoboost and AWD. So that's two new Fords in one week...lol...I think the Interceptor will be a little more fun to drive though with 365hp and AWD, but I'm sure the ST won't be a slouch...especially coming from the Jetta and 185hp. It's a pretty quick car so I can't wait to see what the focus can do.

As far as the Jeep, yeah, it's on the way out. Last oil change I did there was some chocolate colored slimy foamy stuff so I'm guessing the head gasket is starting to go letting coolant mix with the oil. We have an Xterra for 4wd duties.

Thanks again for the welcomes.
