I keep a micro fiber cloth in my car to keep the dust and pollen away. If it's going to be a hot day I just drape that over the knob. And like Tbone said, mine also only gets hot when I'm parked.

Here you go:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200840307740...84.m1497.l2649

Looks good, but its a little light weight at only 4oz. The material seems quite similar to that of a billiard ball. Overall, I like it a lot.

thank a lot. I like the looks and I've heard of that brand before, can't hurt to give it a try at that price

I have the SickSpeed "Old School" shift knob in White with Black lettering. To go along with my white car and black ext. pkg.
It is almost the size of a billiard ball and the material does not get hot like a metal knob. When going through SickSpeeds site, make sure you buy the knob that is threaded 12x1.25. Other knobs come with plastic inserts to fit up to three diff. thread pitches. My "Old School" came with a brass adapter that was threaded for 12x1.25 and the inside of the knob was brass threaded to accept the adapter. $25 plus $4.50 shipped to Toronto, Ontario in 6 days. Can't beat that.

Agreed. If you're on a budget, Sickspeed isn't a bad way to go. I like how the threads are metal and the numbers are engraved rather than printed on. Now if only they could fill the empty void with lead for a nicely weight knob..

I have been looking at Home Dip and Lowes for a weighted silicone to squeeze into the void of the knob. All the products available do not weigh much. Maybe use lead ball bearings and then finish off with a layer of silicone to hold the bearings in place.hmmmm.
