Seat upgrades.

My question is: I am thinking about going with a couple of Corbeau: LG1 in my 01' zx3 to go along with my white and black interior theme. My only question is when you upgrade the seats, there are those sensors in the bottom of the seats that you plug in. What exactly are those used for? Can you get away with not having them plugged in? and if not is there a workaround? Thanks for your time!

I did a quick Google search for the seats your putting in, and Holy $eat! They're pretty awe$ome. Anyway, I believe the "sensors" you speak of, are the one's the vehicle uses to detect whether or not a passenger has his/her seat belt on. IIRC, you would remove those and re-fit them onto your upgrade$ =] . Btw, dang they're expensive O_O . =]

Oh yes, they are expensive, but in the end you get what you pay for. I have sat in one of these for a 6 hours road trip and I will go out on a limb and say they are one of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in.

Does your car now have side air bags in the seat? Otherwise that connection is just for the seat belts and you can just swap those over. I dont think they put the pressure sensor in the passenger seat bottom until '05 so you wouldnt have to worry about that either.

He will still get an airbag light even without side airbags. There is some sort of resistor built into the seat wiring for non-airbag cars.

Probably could. I tried but maybe using a sawzall to remove was a bit aggressive. Although now I'm thinking it may be a grounding issue
