Post DIY mods

ok I have watched a few videos on good ole youtube on DIY grounding systems. and also a couple videos on how to turn your stock shifter into a short throw without cutting it. I was hoping to see if anyone one here has done it of has any insight into it. I know what the system is and how it works but I want to know is what kind of wire to use and how kind of bennifits I will get.
