I had a set of 2009 SES wheels on my 08 SE, the wheels on it peeled. Now I have a 2011 SES and the wheels are peeling on it as well. My car has lived 99.8% of its life on Interstate 35, never on a dirt or gravel road. They are SUPER bad as almost all of the clear coat has peeled and now it looks like the paint itself is coming off.

The clear coat isn't so bad, with some fine sanding you can just re-clear them. I had issues with them too and Ford would do nothing about it. I've been searching for paint codes now forever because I really like my rims, but I can't find the proper paint code for them to keep them stock.

Luckily on mine so far it is only happening in the little round gaps between spokes, and no where else. So it's not very noticeable unless you are right up on them.

But yeah, Ford should have done a better job with these, or at least fixed them when the issue started happening.

I am going to go the route of getting my wheels powdercoated.

Mine is also starting to peel on two of my rims....Very disappointing....so much for Ford quality. I am so disappointed that I don't think I will look at Ford again. I know it's not that big of an issue but they should address these issues. This is just piss poor quality................

I have this issue too, which lead me to plasti-dipping them. I would like to keep them and powder coating them, but I just don't know. I can't find anywhere that does it near me, and I don't have the money or the spare wheels to send off mine.

I thought mine were bad....maybe we could put a bunch of pics together of the wheels that are flaking and send them to ford? who knows, maybe they'll actually do something

Ford told me to go pound sand... denied it was a problem and hoped they would have another opportunity down the road to leave a positive impression. Too bad this car was their second opportunity (had a 96 Taurus that was a disaster and made us swear off American cars).

God forbid the clearcoat peels off of your wheels. The whole car must be a trash heap. Might as well sell it and buy a Toyota if you hate Ford so much now.

I did a close inspection of my wheels today and there is one spot that is starting to peel. Wah wah... Guess I'll start saving up to have them powdercoated.
