I get 23-24 with my normal aggressive freeway commute. However when I tone it down I can easily get 30mpg.

Well I just got mine and as such am treating it fairly nice for the first 500-1000k. At any rate for my road trips pumping 93 octane I was getting 36mpg over a 5 hour drive. Yes I know I should not have done a road trip as soon as I got it but I had to make Ford Nationals here in the East :p ...anyway I have been getting about 28-30mpg around town again babying it...and it's still completely stock engine wise.

I'm getting about 28mpg going on 50-55mph cruises. I have less than 4.5k on it

Do you ever reset the MPG? If you are going to be on the highway for an hour or so try resetting the mpg while cruising at 65-72 or whatever your cruise speed is...it should definitely read over 30 on the highways.

Mine is bone-stock.

27.75 MPG over 20k, miles. About 75% interstate miles.

Low was 20.4 mpg in pure stop and go, and high was 34.3 at high elevation.

Typical for me, is 28-30 MPG on interstate drives, 32 for rural highways, and 22-25 in typical urban mixed driving.

I feel the orginal EPA ratings were pretty darn good.

It's not a problem doing road trips in a new car. I think the rule of thumb though is you should try to vary the speed. In other words not set the cruise and stay at a certain speed for long periods of time. Also should probably keep the speed down, like 65 mph or less. All in all though, I don't think new cars need break in periods as drastic like older cars.
