How would a turbo 4 mustang sound? Pull up to the lights, and rev a 4-banger...hope it's good!

"Engineers suggest the sixth-generation Stang will be as many as 200 pounds lighter than the outgoing car."

A 2013 V6 is 3500 lbs.
Losing 200 lbs. (maybe more with the 4 cylinder engine) would put the 2.3L Mustang very close to the weight of a ST (and presumably a RS).

I'd still buy the 450hp 5.0L. Turbo's are all well and good, but it takes a LOT of mods to overcome a 100 hp disadvantage out of the box, even if the power comes with 100-200 lbs of ballast.

every turbo car I have owned has had so much cheap power left in it out of the box that I don't think I could ever go back to a na motor, any significant power gains are expensive.

Are you talking about the racing engines or the lackluster OEM engines?

I've played with plenty of turbo fours in my past, and built my own 1.6l turbo car that made 325 at the wheels. It was fun, but far from OEM offerings.

IMO, (assuming this really happens) the 4 cyl turbo Mustang and the V8 Mustang will be apples and oranges.

If you want a pony car with V8 growl and maximum thrust, the 2.3 is not for you.

If you want something closer to a sports car (well balanced, better handling, etc.), the 2.3 would be the better choice.

Is my 2.3 as fast/quick as your 5.0? I could care less. I didn't buy the car solely based on straight line performance.
