They're ok, in regular situations I have no condensation buildup. Only get condensation with power washing, either automatic or by hand. So I'll probably leave 'em alone.

Busy weekend!

With help from Paladin, I got new suspension stuff installed. FRPP springs (M-5560-ZXM) and stock SVT dampers (M-18000-ZX3).

Soaking in PB Blaster the night before the install...

Before:

After:

Then on Sunday I decided it was Detail Day. Washed, clayed, buffed, used Dr. Colorchip on the bumpers, then some Griot's speed shine. Used pretty much all Griot's products actually, good stuff! I'll wait for the Dr. Colorchip paint to fully cure before waxing it this weekend.

Buffing results, ooo shiny:

Some before pictures of bumper rash:

Aaaand after:

Overall I'm impressed with the Dr. Colorchip stuff. Very easy application process, and while the results certainly aren't as good as a full repaint, it improved my 5' paint job on my bumper to a 20' paint job, which is what I was after. Certainly better than it was before, and the color match is quite good.

Car is at the shop today getting the rear shocks replaced, we had a helluva time fighting the lower bolts and gave up on them. It needed an alignment anyway so I figured might as well have them finish the shocks. I have yet to really push the car in the corners, so we'll see tonight how she handles! The look and ride is exactly what I was hoping it would be though, virtually no ride degredation over stock. It doesn't look too much lower than stock from the pics, but it definitely is, and it will likely lower a bit more once the springs settle.

Oh, and I should take some pics of the old springs/dampers when I get home, they were naasty, probably all original stuff.

Edit: Hey, this was my 1000th post! Sweet!

Looks great swan. I used a clay bar for the first time a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe the difference it made.

Yeah they must not have had trouble with them since I didn't hear anything about it. Handling and ride are both improved, in most road conditions. I only noticed a bit more bounce over large road imperfections and things like railroad tracks.

Air ride would be sweet, but it's just so expensive... $1400+

Couple updates. For the past few weeks I've been having brake issues, the RF has been dragging a bit and wreaking havoc on my caliper and pads. Lots of heat and vibration, sometimes tolerable and sometimes almost undriveable. Finally got around to fixing it, and re-did the Plastidipped wheels while I was at it. As I removed the RF caliper, I found that the dust boot was not sealed to the caliper at all. I'm sure some dust and dirt got in there and inhibited the piston's ability to move back and forth.

So I bought some used calipers, a seal rebuild kit for one caliper, one new brake line, and new rotors (Centric 120) and pads (Hawk HPS). Plus Duplicolor's caliper paint and five cans of white Plastidip.

Calipers, painted and rebuilt with new seals. The seals were a major PITA to get to seat, I eventually looked up a how-to that said the cap of an aerosol can is the perfect size to get the rubber dust cap to seal to the caliper. It was right!

I used to have 'SVT' painted in white on the blue calipers, but decided to make things easier this time and do all blue. Had to paint over the white on the rears to match this.

Wheels being dipped:

Results!

And an artsy fartsy picture:

I'm happy to report that my braking is much better now. No more sticking and vibration and pulsation. It seems that they don't bite quite as early as they used to, but that might be due to the broken caliper grabbing early. The feel is still very solid and progressive though.

Now I just need to figure out why my amps aren't turning on... I do love my Ford, and it's need to Fix Or Repair Daily

Installed my Jay Racing HFC and wrapped the cat and header while I was at it. I actually ended up wrapping the header while it was still on the car. Removing the fans gained some working room. It wasn't that bad to do it that way, but I definitely could have gotten tighter and more evenly spaced wraps with it properly removed. Eh, it works! Underhood temps are more manageable.

The HFC did exactly what I hoped it would, got a few more dB of noise and butt dyno says I might have gained some midrange punch. Hard to tell though. The noise level is still very tolerable at cruise, and it just shouts at WOT. I have the full SVT Borla system, with the resonator and muffler.

Pics! Wrap looks shiny because of flash.

Videos! First one is before the HFC, second is with. Hard to tell, but it's definitely louder with the HFC. Tone is very much preserved. I believe you need to click the videos and view them directly on Photobucket. Not sure if there's a way to imbed them.

Borla Catback only:

Nice! Looks like you did quite a good wrapping job without removing it. The exhaust sounds great man.
