Need advice within an hour or so

I have a chance to buy a Focus for $2000.

Here's the link: http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/3858751866.html

I don't know much about the car. I'm told those are the original miles. Person has had it only a couple of months. It's about 60 miles away from my home.

If I decide to spend the money go look at it, any thoughts?

I'm a little hesitant with such low mileage for that year car.

thanks.

Looks like it could be a repainted car.
If the exterior paint looks a lot better than the door jambs, it's probably been hit and fixed.

What I do know is that it was hit by a deer; fenders, a door, rocker pannel was replaced.

I bought my 02 ford focus with only 24000 miles on it. They were a family friend and older. worked out great for me. My only worry would be if it had the SPI engine in it. Valve seat could be dropping or it could be fine. That's a fine predicament you are in. Best of luck for you.

Looks like a DOHC engine, so its a zetec. It's a good motor, I had one in my old 2000 zts. You should probably find out if the timing belt has been done on it.

If it hasn't? Should I do it relatively soon?

I believe it's due at 100,000 miles, I could be wrong though

Here's a link to a page with the scheduled maintenance http://www.focusplanet.com/
