Looking for slip on rocker panels.

Hi all, well, after calling EVERY body shop and welder within a 100 miles radius, it's not going to be possible for me use the weld-on rocker panels. Every place I called wants $300+ PER SIDE to remove the old rocker panels and weld on the new ones. I can't afford that. I'd be looking at nearly $1000 to first buy the panels and then pay for the work to have them done.

My only other solution, is the band-aid effect. To buy the SLIP-ON panels and have them riveted on the bottom. I found a shop that would do that for $50 per side. The problem...is that I cannot find the slip-on panels ANYWHERE on the internet. I can only find the weld-on ones.

Here is a link to an eBay listing of what I'm talking about. The problem with this listing is they don't ship to the United States. They were the ONLY listing anywhere on the internet I could find the type I need. If anyone...can PLEASE find a place where I can buy the slip on panels, I would really appreciate it. My car is a 2001 Ford Focus SE 4-Door Sedan.

What about getting a set of side skirts? I'm not sure if you're wanting to go that route, and most of the ones readily available wouldn't look right without an entire body kit. But you can get lucky and find a set of SVT skirts or the Ford Accessory skirts, which in my opinion, can be pulled off with factory front and rear bumpers.

Mr.Bergner -- I would go the side skirt route, but that's an even worse band-aid, and it doesn't fix the bottom part of the panel that is cracked. The metal slip on panels essentially cover the entire panel from top to bottom and are either welded onto the bottom or riveted on. I'm not exactly sure how they connect at the top...they slip over the edges of the inside door jam...but how exactly they do that, I'm not sure at this point. Maybe another reader can explain that portion to me??? But regardless, they can be sealed along the edges and the top, and because they're solid steel, it'll take ages for any rust from the original rocker panels to penetrate through to the cover panels. If I had my choice, I'd have the old one's cut off and new ones welded on...but the price to do that is just outrageous.

Red01Focus -- I think the one's you sent me a link to were for a 2 door and weren't the complete panel...the back curved portion was missing.

Update: I was finally able to find a U.S. shipper for the slip on panels, however, the ODD thing, is that they come in two separate parts...the straight part, and the curved part at the end. Unsure as to why it's like that but may have something to do with how they fit onto the inside door jam.

Here's a link for the U.S.shipper that shows the 2-part slip on panels and shows the curved part I'm talking about: http://www.noramstore.com/Ford_Focus...p/0400140u.htm

Plastic rocker covers

I`ve seen pics of Focus with a factory plastic rocker cover . Does Ford not supply that part ? Might be worth it to check some junk yards

02ztsian - I will check there as well but I think the curved part is also left off of those panels.

burnie - Not sure if the factory plastic rocker covers completely cover the rocker from top to bottom?? Also, we only have one junkyard here where I live and they don't have any...already tried them when I was looking for side skirts.

All rocker panels are the same length width and height for all Focus models from 2000 - 2007. It doesn't matter what these are off of, they will fit your car.
