It only comes on when the door is open , which is fine however when the door is closed id like an option to turn it on also just like the dome light can be.
Sorry I should have been a little more clear. When you turn the dome light on using the dimmer switch for your dash lights, the sills will turn on.

I am thinking of installing a flexible line of LED's along the back window since my car doesn't have a rear dome light. Right behind the headliner would conceal them the most. I wonder if I could angle them so they only light up the cab of the car making them invisible to the people behind me

Might be my new project.

lol i actually bought a set of like 5inch strips i was going to do the same thing with but couldnt figure out a spot to put them...i was thinking cutting them into the rear pillars above the seat belt hole and hide them inside that with a push button to turn them on as well as hooked up to the dome light lol

I could very well be mistaken but isn't the same grey violet wire in the harness behind the kick panels? If so why not just splice there rather than remove the a pillar? If i'm totally off I apologize, just trying to figure things out for myself.

I think you might be correct but I would have to pull that panel off to make sure. The instructions said to splice into the pillar power, no idea why. If the wire is behind the kick panel, yes it would make more sense to splice it in there.
