"...couldn't afford to buy a new set"

Couldn't, or wouldn't...

You can buy a new set of tires (and OK ones at that) for under $100.

Methinks some folks need to prioritize a bit better...maybe drop that $100/month phone, and buy some freakin' tires so you don't kill someone.

Truth. Hell many places sell used tires for super cheap. Anything is better than steel belts showing.

If someone can't afford necessary maintenance (if you can call this that) on a vehicle, maybe they should get in line at the bus stop.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever read. Like mix said my local junk yard sells tire for 7.99 each I bought eight last year so I had winter tires for the focus for a while. They won't sell unless it has at least 75% tread left.

If you shop around on the net you can almost get four tires for the price of four. They company I order my summer tires for is cheap as hell. I got two brand new 215 40/18s for 100 shipped to my door they wasn't a huge name brand but they ride a hell of a lot better than my bfgs I had.

People honestly are that stupid. Their really is no hope for the human race.

Seems kinda immoral and a bit shady, but I have to admit it's a nice business model, lol

These people are just retarded!!! how can they think this is an intelligent thing to do. Ok i know why. its because we live in a credit happy society. if someone can get it rented or loaned to them they are all over it. they think that because they only pay like 19$ a month they are getting it cheap. this is so stupid!

Here is another example of this kind of thing:

http://www6.rentacenter.com/specials...T.ac=mprn_June FD_TVsPOP

If you read the fine print, the total payments are $4,138.62 (for ~$1200 worth of items).
