Do you perhaps not purposely rest your foot on the clutch pedal while driving?

Every MTX75 I've driven has had this characteristic to some extent. What you're hearing is most likely "gear rollover" and is due to normal gear clearances in this transaxle (Google it). My '01 exhibits it more than my '12, but they both do it on occasion. The '01 has 140K on the original clutch and has made that noise since day 1. If your throwout bearing was to blame, you would hear the noise in other situations than just neutral with the clutch engaged.

Just a query, but I've noticed that the clutch in my '13 seems to overheat and act really squishy in traffic, especially in warmer weather. It get grippy, and hard to control, and just overall is a nuisance.

Anyone else experienced a Two-Face clutch performance. Great when cruising, and really touchy when in traffic?

I haven't noticed it in the rare occasions I've been in heavy traffic. On those occasions, I will leave some gap between myself and the vehicle in front of me so I can crawl steady in 1st or 2nd without having to actuate the clutch as frequently.
