What to upgrade

I'm not even quite sure it's possible, I recently ( a year ago ) bought a 2001 zx3 zetec and I'm really not sure what to upgrade on it now. What I really want is to have some serious acceleration and I want to, if possible, make rpms lower in 1st gear but still achieving a higher speed. For example when I take off I want to be able to last til 30~ under 4 grand rpms in first gear. The guy I bought it off worked at a shop and was big into upgrading the car also, he did a few flex pipe repairs (annoying sound), aftermarket cams, borla exhaust, lowered car with eibach springs. What would provide me with these?
oh and a focuswerks head

Not sure what you are asking... are you saying the car already has all the things listed in the last sentences of your post?

I believe he is saying that stuff has been done. But he is asking if its possible to run 50-60 mph in first gear.

you arent going to get any "serious acceleration" unless you get into Forced Induction. A supercharger will get you into the mid to high 6 second range, a proper turbo setup will get you into the high 5s without too much engine work.

I highly reccomend the FSWERKS turbo kit:

You will also need to upgrade your clutch (and probably flywheel if you have not done so already. Im not sure what cam was installed, but that may need to be reverted to stock depending on the turbo-kits tuning requirements.

As far as the gearing goes, is your focus automatic or manual?

As fare as throttle response... Your could alway do a larger TB and underdrive pullies... Aluminum flywheel... Better rubber on the ground... Hell spray it hehe:cool:

Thank you for the replies I apologize for not specifying what had already been done to the car. Currently on the car there are lowered eibach springs, a 2.5" borla exhaust, focussports header (not even sure about this just has the logo and a bill that says focussports header), adjustable cams, aluminum flywheel, racing clutch (all my dad told me cuz he was payin for it, personally bullshit it shifts like a mofo), and a built engine. There's currently ANOTHER flex pipe leak.

NOTE: I'd also like to know what you guys think of the Wings West WRC body kit. I absolutely love the WRC wing like markko martin's focus has. The front bumper and thoughts on it, doesn't stick out enough maybe?

EDIT: How would a throttle body benefit me?

EDIT 2: Oh yeah just threw on a massive CAI system in.

Edit 3: Manual

You really have to change final drive ratio if you want to go faster in each gear, but then it will not be as quick to get there... it's either fast or quick with gears, not both. The only way to go faster AND quicker is power, but the Zetec is not built to go 9K rpms, so you should build for torque.

Lightening the drive train is a good way to free up some torque. You already have lighter trans componenets, so try a crank UDP, remove the AC pump, and get the lightest wheels/tires and brake rotors you can get away with.

A larger TB will do almost nothing for you, unless you are prepared to increase flow through the head, get a larger MAF housing to go with it, and increase compression so you have a reason to do the other things. You can gain all the throttle response you could need by simply "porting" your stock TB.
